Home, Sweet, Home

Here's another spot in my kitchen. I actually do have room to cook! Here is more silverplate, plus, I love my cool bread board and my vintage paper cutter which I use for paper towels. I love repurposing vintage items for updated uses, similar to the JunkMarket Ladies at http://junkmarketstyle.com/. Now I've learned two things, how to put a link in here and how to edit. Yeah! It's also obvious that the bottom picture is what I typed first. Gosh, I've got a lot to learn.

I thought I'd start showing little pieces of my house. Here's a taste of my "collections". I love tarnished silverplate and flower frogs. The platter and coffee pot were a gift to my parents many years ago when we moved away from Oklahoma City. I also love transferware.

SUMMER IS HERE!

I obviously have a lot of work to do in figuring out layout on this blog. I just wanted to show you our temperature today, IN THE SHADE. I'm just trying to keep things watered and the house cool without using excessive water and electricity. I'm very thankful for our beautiful weather and send extra prayers for our friends and families in the soaked Midwest.

The View

This is the image out our back door, especially in the winter, not so much in June. See the snow?

Dining Al Fresco

The pretty salad is out of Arugula (my favorite), blueberries, strawberries (I bought too many), Gorgonzola cheese and green beans. Of course, it's topped off with Paul Newman's Low Fat Sesame Ginger Salad Dressing. So, so good. It's a beautiful day here and I decided to enjoy my patio and view.

Aw Love

For some reason, I couldn't download the picture. So here's the 10th try or so.

28 Years!

May 31, 1980 - We were married midst tornadoes and torrential rain, can you tell? It didn't matter. We're still great together. I'm helping plan my daughter's wedding in September. I don't think I put as much time and certainly money into ours. Things are just much more detailed these days. I'm wondering why my girls wouldn't want to wear this dress, let alone the hat!
